THE VOICE
OF THE SKY VALLEY CONTINUALLY PUBLISHED SINCE 1899

BY POLLY KEARY
A long-held dream has finally become a reality for antique tractor collector
Jerry Senner of Snohomish. For nearly 10 years he has promoted the idea of a
museum on the Sky Valley to celebrate the history of local agriculture,
mining and transportation.
Last week, Senner signed a deal with Snohomish County and with the Evergreen
State Fair to place a permanent museum, to be called The Western Heritage
Center, in a building on the fairgrounds.
Well be in Building 611, said Senner. Its the last building to the
east. The 2000 square-foot building will receive a major overhaul for its
new, year-round role as a museum. A fully functional windmill and waterwheel
will go outside. A silo will be constructed, and the building will be
enlarged by about 100 square feet to make room for more exhibits.
Inside the compact space will be a comprehensive and sophisticated group of
exhibits illustrating the early technology of field, farm and forest.

Monroes most successful school sports team just
might be the Leaders in Learning Cobras. The 20-person Ultimate Frisbee
team from the alternative high school just won the Division II
Washington State Championship, giving them their third state title in as
many years.
I dont know if any other sports program has won at that level three
times in a row, said Cobras coach Ken Brown.
